    Global forecasting in the development of modern society

    The paper analyses prediction of the future at different stages of the development of science. The nature of forecasting tools is being studied in the context of modern science. We examine the features of computer simulation, which is a new methodology creating a new type of thinking. The key question of investigated issue is analysis of the complexities of global prediction in the development of society. We present some of the features of the international project FuturICT, the main objective of which is to develop evidence-based recommendations. It is proved that in the context of global and regional manifestations of crisis, while making decisions in various areas of society it is necessary to use new information and communication technologies, including supercomputers. Thus the conclusion is drawn on the necessity of the creation in Russia or in the framework of the Eurasian Union of the experimental setup of global system of prediction and control

    Social and cultural aspects of the Western Caucasus military navigation in ancient times

    In this paper, the main characteristics are given to socio-cultural aspects of West Caucasian military navigation in ancient times. It is noted that carriers of navigational tradition were ancient ancestors of indigenous ethnic groups of the Western Caucasus - Circassians and Abkhazians, which were located, according to the ancient sources, at the Black Sea coast and in the mountains and are known as Akheis, Zikhs, Geniokhs. It is emphasized that military navigation of West Caucasian highlanders in ancient times looked more like pirate fishing. Particular attention is paid to geographical and socio-cultural factors which played an important role in the generation of sea robbery, and in the formation of democratic institutions of West Caucasian societies.
